Thursday, October 3

  • Peruse a wide array of prints, sculpture and furniture at Sugar Creek Art Center’s First Thursday Gallery Reception in Thorntown from 5 – 8 p.m.
  • Join in the Community Forum hosted by the Thorntown Public Library beginning at 6 p.m. Learn about library programs and services and share your thoughts and ideas about the future of the library.
  • Help grow and promote entrepreneurs and start-ups in Boone County at the inaugural Pitch Night Competition at the Zionsville Underground, located in the Carter Building. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets – $25.
  • Come meet former Indiana Poet Laureate Karen Kovacik during Poetry on Brick Street at Sullivan Munce Cultural Center in Zionsville at 7 p.m. She will read from Aperture, her translation of a collection of poems by Jacek Dehnel of Poland. Open mic to follow guest reading.
  • Grab your gal pals for Girls Just Wanna Have Fun on the Brick Street in Zionsville. Twenty of your favorite Village shops and restaurants are having an 80’s party and you’re invited…It’s going to be, like, totally tubular!

Friday, October 4

  • Bring your quilting project and make new friends at Thorntown Public Library from 12:30 – 2 p.m.
  • Join in the Gamer’s Guild at the Lebanon Public Library and try your hand at Just Dance or Mario Kart, help with our weekly puzzle or challenge someone to a game of UNO. All ages welcome between 3 – 6 p.m.
  • Choose from a variety of video games at Game On! at Hussey-Mayfield Public Library in Zionsville. Sign up not required, just show up and have fun between 4 – 5 p.m.  For students in grades 6-12 only.
  • Visit the Fall Book, Bake and Craft Sale at Hussey-Mayfield Public Library in Zionsville from 5 – 7 p.m.
  • Enjoy Live Music on the Bricks at Auberge in Zionsville from 5:30 – 8 p.m.
  • Experience a Haunted Walking Tour of Zionsville. Ghost Walks commence every 15 minutes from 6 – 9 p.m. at the SullivanMunce Cultural Center. Price $15 – $20 per person.
  • Check out the Wine, Paint & Party at the Cork & Barrel in Whitestown beginning at 6:30 p.m.
  • Join Black Dog Books in Zionsville at 8 p.m. for their annual candlelight reading of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven. Traditional refreshments of raven cookies and hot apple cider will be served.
  • Rock out at Moontown Brewery’s First Friday Concert in Whitestown from 8 – 11 p.m.

Saturday, October 5

  • Begin your day at the ZFD Pancake Breakfast at Zionsville Fire Station 91 from 6 – 11 a.m. There will also be face painting, a bake sale and Sparky the Fire Dog.
  • Get healthy during the 12th Annual Boone County Senior Health Expo at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Lebanon from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. There will be exhibitors, seasonal flu and pneumonia shots, free health screenings, medicine cabinet clean-up, door prizes and entertainment.
  • Browse the Fall Book, Bake and Craft Sale at Hussey-Mayfield Public Library in Zionsville from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Learn Computer Basics at the Lebanon Public Library.  This free class runs from 10 – 11 a.m.
  • Bring the dogs to the Tails on the Trail Group Dog Walk. Meet at Turkey Foot Nature Park in Zionsville at 10 a.m.
  • Take a hike through a 5-acre corn maze and pick a pumpkin at the 5th Annual Pumpkin Harvest at Dull’s Tree Farm in Thorntown from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Re-energize with food from the Feed Bunk and wash it down with a refreshing apple cider slushie. Admission $10 per person, 2 and under free.
  • Meet author, Pete Nunweiler, and share real life ghost stories at Brad’s Books in Lebanon from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Join the Purdue Club of Boone County’s Purdue vs. Penn Viewing Party at Buffalo Wild Wings in Zionsville. The game begins at 12 p.m.
  • See some of the best high school marching bands in the state at the Annual Zionsville Invitational Marching Band Contest at Zionsville High School.  Bands take the field from 2 – 10 p.m.
  • Check out the farm, pet the animals, pick up your family’s pumpkins at the WiseWood Fall Fest in Lebanon from 3 – 7 p.m.
  • Enjoy live music, food and fun during the Sunshine Music Festival at the Whitestown Municipal Complex from 3 – 10 p.m.
  • Be entertained as the Boone County Youth-Adult Orchestra presents Escape! A Musical Journey at the Boone County Courthouse Rotunda. The free concert begins at 5 p.m.
  • Dust off your lederhosen and enjoy Oktoberfest at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lebanon from 5 – 9 p.m. There will be German sausages, kraut, schnitzel beans, potato salad and craft beer! Fun for all ages! $10 per person. Kids 6 and under eat for free.
  • Enjoy apple cider, great food and live Bluegrass music at the Apple Cider Festival at Pleasant Acres Nature Park in Jamestown from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
