2015-08-12 10.58.13 August 13th, 2015 – LEBANON, Ind. – We know that the next generation of workforce must receive key skills training in order to meet the growing demands of the global economy.  The currently under construction Vincennes University – Gene Haas Training Center in Lebanon will offer Boone County and regional employers critical industry training programs to meet those needs head-on.

Vincennes University, in partnership with Haas Automation, Inc. and other important manufacturing companies operating in Indiana, has established a network of training centers to build up the skills of our Indiana workforce.  Industry and manufacturing employers are in desperate need of skilled workers, but experience a shortcoming of opportunities to send employees to needed training sessions.  For example, it is expected that Indiana will need 7,000 new CNC machinists over the next five years to meet demand.  The VU facility in Lebanon therefore represents a critical amenity and resource to area employers as well as the City of Lebanon and greater Boone County.

The VU facility in Lebanon will host four different training opportunities beginning in early 2016:

  1. Industry Standard CNC Machining
  2. Industrial Maintenance
  3. Robotics Programming
  4. Metrology Training2015-08-12 10.45.45

These programs will be accessed through employers and will offer hands-on and classroom style training.  Most programs will include 600 hours of requirements for completion and may last as long as 15 weeks for full training.

Further details on program specifics, as well as contact information, can be found with the Vincennes University Gene Haas Training and Education Center flier.
