  • Join in Nature 101: Birding for Beginners at Zion Nature Center beginning at 6 p.m. Be sure to register!
  • Get motivated during the Writing Group with Brian at Between the Pages Bookstore in Lebanon.  Whether you write poetry, short stories, or novels this group will provide encouragement and support. The group meets at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, April 30

  • Check out the Indy Antique Advertising Show at the Boone County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. $10 pp
  • Peruse the Crewel Jewels Needlework Exposition at SullivanMunce Cultural Center from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Come out to the National Adopt a Shelter Pet event at the Humane Society of Boone County in Whitestown. You can meet their adorable shelter animals from 6 – 8:30 p.m.
  • Join in a game of Friday Night Magic at Friendly City Games in Lebanon starting at 6:15 p.m. $5 entry fee.
  • Experience The Addams Family – School Edition at Lebanon High School. This musical is based on the iconic characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, and follows a now grown-up Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, who has fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. The show begins at 7 p.m. and tickets range from $10 – $15.
  • Take the kids to an outdoor movie at M.E.L.S. at the Starlite Drive-In Theater in Mechanicsburg. Box office opens at 7 p.m. $25 carload.

Saturday, May 1

  • Help to remove invasive garlic mustard plants during the Weed Wrangle at Pleasant Acres Nature Park in Jamestown from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Meet at the shelter house and be sure to bring gloves.
  • Check out the Indy Antique Advertising Show at the Boone County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. $10 pp
  • Bring your little princess to Princess Makeovers with Kandy at Between the Pages Bookstore in Lebanon from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Each child will receive a makeover and a free used book. Stay for Story Time with Officer Reynolds at 12pm. $5 pp
  • Brick Street Market in downtown Zionsville returns from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. This annual event features arts, crafts, vintage, antique and food vendors that offer a large variety of food, jewelry, clothing and artwork.
  • Celebrate the Grand Opening of the R/C Park at Advance Community Park from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. (From W. Wall Street, turn onto Nicely Street and follow it to the park.)
  • Explore the Sugar Creek Art Center in Thorntown from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. This month’s exhibition is Death of a Thesis Show – a collection of creatives and canvas, featuring work by 2020 Herron School of Art graduates.
  • Experience Savor Lebanon from 2 – 6 p.m. in downtown Lebanon. This craft beer, wine and food festival features 20+ craft breweries, wineries, distilleries, meaderies & cideries from all over the state. The event will also feature live music and food trucks. Tickets $25 – $44.

  • Be amazed during Birds of Prey at Mulberry Fields in Zionsville beginning at 2 p.m.  Take Flight! Wildlife Education will be there for a demonstration. Be sure to register.
  • Bring the family for food, fun and tabletop games at Books & Brews in Zionsville from 12 – 8 p.m. Kids eat free!

  • Talk a walk on the Big 4 Trail in Whitestown and from Lebanon to Thorntown or visit one of their family-friendly parks.
  • Explore the Born Learning Trail with your kids at Tom Johnson Memorial Park in Thorntown or take a walk through Pleasant Acres Nature Park in Jamestown.
