The Big 4 Trail stretches across Boone County, connecting Thorntown, Lebanon, Whitestown, and Zionsville. It is almost completely connected – and will span 50 miles when finished! As you ride, walk, or jog the trail, there is much to stop and enjoy along the way (besides the beautiful scenery, of course).

Zionsville:

  • Start your adventure with a hike through Starkey Park – see the beautiful eagle creek and explore the many trails.
  • Looking for more of a restful stop? Enjoy the village shops and eatery. Scoops Ice Cream offers a refreshing treat and a patio to relax and enjoy it on!
  • Cool off at Mulberry Fields Park – there’s a splash pad, creek, and playground for the little ones!
  • Wanting something a little more peaceful? Enjoy a picnic and a quiet setting at Heritage Trail Park.
  • Your Boone County adventure isn’t complete unless you’ve snapped a picture with all the walking man statues – check out Zionsville’s by their town hall and keep your eye out for the chalkboard wall to share your thoughts!

Whitestown:

  • Rent a bike from eBoom bikes and ride along the trail. The shop is just off the trail in the Legacy Core.
  • After your bike ride enjoy a shrimp cocktail at LA Café on their patio.
  • Prefer a cold beer? Moontown has a great selection of craft beers and amazing BBQ to pair it with.
  • Don’t forget to take a picture with the walking man sculpture – Whitestown’s is in the heart of old Whitestown.

Lebanon:

  • There’s nothing like a good pizza to end your hike – and Greek’s Pizzeria has the best! It’s right on the trail in downtown Lebanon.
  • If a frozen treat sounds better, Paradise Shaved Ice and Ice Cream shop is just off the trail downtown.
  • Look for the Lebanon Youth Council’s mural – it was designed and planned by the youth of Lebanon!
  • Also right on the trail in downtown Lebanon is the Farmer’s Market! Shop the Lebanon’s Farmer’s Market on Tuesday evenings from June to September.
  • Get a photo with the “Rick Mount” walking man statue. Did you know Rick Mount was Mr. Indiana Basketball?
  • Just off the trail is Lebanon’s other walking man statue, located in the Youth Learning Garden.
