Thorntown’s Community Christmas

This is a free event and everyone is welcome to attend.

Schedule of Events
5:00- Doors open, Christmas Tree Lighting
6:00- Parade-  West St to Pearl St on Main. Loops Lions Park and returns to TFD.
6:15- Santa arrives Thorntown Fire Dept. following parade
6:30- K9 Demonstration with Whitestown PD. K9 bite demo by flagpole at TFD. Search demo inside TFD following
7:30- Thorntown Fire Demo- Extrication equipment, fire safety and more!

THORNTOWN POLICE DEPT. ACTIVITIES:
~Toy Drive- Bring in an unboxed toy to be donated to local Thorntown families.
~Food Drive- Canned goods, dry goods, hygiene products, cleaning supplies… Also donated to local Thorntown families.
~Humane Society Collection- Donate pet supplies to be transported to the Boone County Humane Society.
~Snacks and Chat with the Chief- Stop by for a quick snack and pick the brain of Thorntown’s finest, Chief Clark! Grab a gift bag for each little one!
~Coloring contest and Letters to Santa
~Jelly Bean Contest- Guess the amount of jelly beans in the jar and win it! Closest guess wins.

DOWNTOWN ACTIVITIES:
~Community Christmas Tree- Help decorate our tree! Bring a homemade ornament and place on the tree. Located at Lions Park.
~Shop Small- Visit the local businesses around town for some stocking stuffers, snacks and activities.
~Downtown Carriage Rides- (Weather permitting) Meet at the Lions Park at Main/Pearl St. Carriage rides will complete a loop and return to this location.

THORNTOWN FIRE DEPT ACTIVITIES:
~Photos with Santa- Santa arrives after the Parade. Take your own photos and feel free to share them with us!
~Letters to Santa- Write a letter and give to your parents to mail to Santa!
~Coloring Contest- Everyone is a winner here. Color a page, write your first name and age at the top and it will be displayed on our Facebook page.
~Reindeer Food- They get hungry too! Make this snack to put outside on Christmas Eve.
~Snowstorm in a Bottle- Create a magical snowstorm you can watch year round!
~Decorate an ornament- Create a custom ornament to put on either the Community Christmas tree or to take home.
~Tour the Station- Check out the Fire Trucks, Ambulance and Equipment.
