How We're Funded
The Boone EDC is a 501(c)(6) public/private partnership organization.  As the economic development arm for Boone County, Advance, Jamestown, Lebanon, Thorntown, Whitestown, and Zionsville, part of our funding comes from those local units of government that benefit from increased tax revenue, job creation, and private investment.  We are also funded through support from local businesses and utility companies that see the value of bringing new growth to Boone County.
Our Core Competencies
Day in and out, we focus on these three areas:

    • Traditional economic development – Bringing new businesses to our community and helping the existing ones grow. This also includes small business and entrepreneurship development.
    • Talent attraction and retention –We want to ensure that the workforce supply meets the demand of our current and future employers.
    • Placemaking – Forgive us for the cliché, but we want to build a community where people want to live, work, thrive, and raise their family.
